Régis Guillemot, racing on the open seas
For the Guillemot family, offshore racing is second nature.
Following on from his cousin Marc, Régis has several transatlantic crossings under his belt.
As well as founding and developing his own charter company, Régis has continued to fulfil his own personal sailing ambitions.
He took part in the Route du Rhum 2002, 2006 and 2010 and in the Transat Jacques Vabre in 2004.
An unrivalled trainer and sailer, he won the 2002 Route du Rhum.
In the monohull category Class 3, on board Storagetek, a 45' open monohull, he even finished ahead of the 50' Class 2 monohulls!
Then, in 2004, he was the winner of the Transat Jacques Vabre.
This rigor and strict routine for the preparation of his racing boat is reflected today in the maintenance of the catamarans available for hire through his charter company.
Route du Rhum 2010
Once again, Régis took to the high seas for the most legendary of transatlantic solo races.
For this historic event in terms of the number of participants and categories, Régis sailed a totally new boat, built for high speeds, a Pogo 40 S2, and he finished 17th out of 45 in the Class 40.
