Formalities
For any French citizen or any person travelling from Europe and Switzerland, a valid ID card or passport is required for entry into Martinique or Guadeloupe.
You may be asked for a Parental Authorisation form for any minors travelling with you.
Your passport or ID card must be valid for the entire duration of your visit and if you leave French territory. It will be inspected during customs and immigration formalities, which will take place each time you leave and enter one of the islands. It is advisable to deal with these customs and immigration formalities as soon as you can upon arrival.
Taxes can vary according to your travel itinerary. For example, 10 € per boat to enter and leave Martinique, 25 € for Saint Lucia and between 130 € and 160 € for the Grenadines.
Remember to bring your driver's licence in case you want to hire a car at any time.
Please be aware that customs offices are usually open between 8 am and 4 pm. If you do not manage to get there during these hours then overtime will be added to your bill.
